FAQ

What does "Boxing/ Kickboxing for MMA" mean?
MMA is a unique fight style that changes the way we box and kickbox. For example, in MMA the addition of wrestling means a boxing/ kickboxing stance won't be as effective. In the "For MMA" classes we learn how to apply that fight style in MMA.

Will I get hurt?
There’s a chance, but we built a safe environment for our program and classes to minimize injuries. We want to make sure everyone can box safely.

I’m nervous and not sure what to expect. What’s it like?
One to One MMA's most common compliment is how great our vibe is, we are all friends and every is welcomed with open arms. We know it’s scary to try a new gym out, but we’ll make sure you feel welcome.

Do I need to be in shape to start?
No. Martial arts is for everyone, and you can keep at your own pace.

Do I need to be athletic?
No. But you’ll notice you’ll get more athletic the more you box!

Are your classes safe for women?
Absolutely. We’re dedicated to keeping a good environment for everyone. This is a place to grow.

Why should I take lessons with One to One MMA?
One size doesn’t fit all. Our program is personalized to those who attend classes so you can make the most of your time.

How often should I do classes?
You’ll see the quickest improvement with doing as many classes and personal training sessions as possible. But once a week is better than nothing.

What can I expect from classes?
You can expect to grow as a fighter and a person. MMA is a fun challenge.
Do I have to fight someone?
No. Most of our athletes don’t fight. They use it to learn self defence or have a fun workout. But you can talk to us about it if you’re interested in fighting!
